During the convention the juggling hall will be open 24 hours. The Ladybird Project will be there in their own big top, providing silly activities all day, every day.
The British Balloon Modelling Convention is also back, and so are JUST with their fantastic unicycle trials area.
This year, we are proud to announce that we have a fire area, to satisfy all the pyromaniacs among us.
Throughout the convention, there will be a multiplicity of workshops, and various shows in the big top. And to round it all off, the usual juggling games on site, and spectacular public show in Scarborough!
The site opens at 4pm on Tuesday. Come along, grab your registration pack and find a spot to put up your tent. The juggling hall will be open for you. Later on, the bar will be open too and we will be hosting a BJC Pub Quiz.
Please don't arrive before 4pm—putting together a site like this is a big job and some of the building work can be dangerous. During this time it's enough work to look after our own health and safety without looking after yours too!
Regular workshops will be running from 11am to 6pm, on everything from juggling to falling over, and from beginner level to the most advanced we can manage.
The Fire Area will be open from 6pm to 11pm.
Ladybird will be running a glow/UV disco at the Ladybird tent in the evening.
Workshops will again be running from 11am to 6pm.
From 2pm to 4pm, we are getting into the spirit of England’s largest county and putting on our very own Yorkshire Fayre. This will feature table-top stalls, run by anyone who wants to volunteer to, and will culminate in a display from The Minster Strays morris dancers at 4pm.
The British Young Juggler of the Year competition will be in the Big Top at 5pm.
The Fire Area will be open for its second session, 6pm to 11pm.
From 7pm there will be a ceilidh in the marquee, called by Juliette from The Minster Strays and accompanied by The Rough and Ready Boys.
Later in the evening, The Rough and Ready Boys will be entertaining you with bluegrass music until midnight. The evening will finish up with a Renegade show in the Big Top.
Workshops will once again be running from 11am to 6pm.
At 4pm there will be a show by students from two acclaimed British circus schools—Circus Space and Circomedia—in the Big Top.
In the evening, the Fire Show will take place in the Fire Area next to the building.
This year’s Open Stage will run in the Big Top from 8pm, followed by a late-night Renegade show.
The Old Skool Jugglers panel-style show will be returning from 10pm. Come along and hear juggling veterans (probably!) discuss everything from circus school to prop manufacturing.
Workshops run until 2pm on Saturday.
This year’s Juggling Games will be on site from 2pm.
Buses will leave the site at 4pm, to travel to Scarborough for this year’s amazing Public Show—Caught in the Act! There will be time to get something to eat in town before making your way to Scarborough Spa Theatre ready for the show to start at 7:30pm. As soon as the show finishes, buses will be collecting everybody from outside the theatre to take you back to site. A show ticket is included with all 6-day, weekend and Saturday convention passes. If you have non-juggling family and friends that would like to join us for the show, show-only tickets will be available to buy both at the convention and on the door at the theatre. Show-only tickets cost £15 for adults and £8 for under 16s. Under 5s are free.
Afterwards, the last of this year’s Renegade shows will be happening in the Big Top.
The Juggling Hall will be open until 4pm.
Workshops running from 11am - 2pm.
At 12pm Wes & Patrick will be performing their world-class show Between Someonesons as our end of convention closing show.
The convention closes at 4pm, when we'd like everyone off-site so we can start clearing up!
